Governor Holcomb’s $8 Million Shows Support for His Results-Driven Leadership

INDIANAPOLIS – After pausing campaign activity in March to lead Indiana through the global pandemic, Governor Eric Holcomb closed the second quarter of 2020 with $8.05 million cash on hand. This impressive total includes $1.48 million raised in less than one month of active fundraising during the quarter.

“Hoosiers like strong, measured leadership, and that’s what they’ve seen from Governor Holcomb,” said Kyle Hupfer, campaign manager for Governor Holcomb’s reelection bid. “As Governor Holcomb focused wholly on leading Indiana through this pandemic, he made the call in March to pause all active campaigning and fundraising. Hoosiers’ vigorous support let us restart this campaign in a robust position, and today as Indiana is getting back on track, we’re able to report a historically strong position and more than $8 million in the bank.”

This news comes as the latest polling shows that 83% of Hoosiers approve of Governor Holcomb’s response to the pandemic and 79% approval of his overall job performance. In a head-to-head matchup, the poll shows the governor defeating the Democrat nominee 64% to 21%.

The numbers reported this week continue Governor Holcomb’s trend of achieving robust fundraising results. At the end of 2020’s first fundraising quarter, which included the pandemic fundraising pause, Governor Holcomb reported a strong $7.13 million cash on hand.

“There’s no doubt about it – whether it’s polling or fundraising, the numbers show Hoosiers around the state are rallying around Governor Holcomb’s leadership,” said Hupfer.
