Governor Eric Holcomb released this statement following tonight’s passage of Public Question #1, the Indiana Balanced Budget Amendment:
“Through years of responsible leadership at the Statehouse, Hoosiers have enjoyed the benefits of balanced budgets. Balanced budgets ensure that schools and local communities are funded, and that future generations of Hoosiers won’t be saddled with paying for today’s bills. And by voting to add that requirement to Indiana’s constitution, we’re ensuring that fiscal responsibility will always be a priority for our state’s leaders.”
