About Suzanne Crouch

Meet Suzanne

Energetic. Passionate. Advocate.

Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch is a proud, born-and-raised Hoosier from Evansville. Governor Holcomb hit a home run when he picked Suzanne to be his lieutenant governor, as she puts her experience in local and state government to work for Hoosiers every day. Suzanne first got involved in public service in her community as Vanderburgh County Auditor. She put fiscal responsibility first as she helped lead the local auditor’s office to its first clean bill of health in decades from the State Board of Accounts. Suzanne then went on to serve as president of the Vanderburgh County Commissioners before being elected to the Indiana House of Representatives. While serving in the Indiana House, Suzanne was on the Ways and Means Committee, where she helped write the state’s biennial budget, and on the Public Health Committee, where she was an advocate for Hoosiers with disabilities. Suzanne then went on to be Indiana’s Auditor of State, where she was responsible for paying the state’s bills, and successfully earned Indiana top marks for government transparency. As our lieutenant governor, today Suzanne is focused on supporting our rural communities through agriculture, tourism, community development, expanding broadband access and more. She’s also a passionate advocate for our fellow Hoosiers with developmental disabilities. Suzanne attended Purdue University, and is a proud wife to her husband, Larry Downs, and mother to her daughter, Courtney.
