Yesterday, Governor Holcomb announced a big new initiative that will be a game-changer when it comes to skilling up Indiana’s workforce.
He announced the launch of Skillfull Indiana, a new partnership designed to create better pathways to good jobs for Hoosiers. It comes at a critical time. In the next decade, Indiana will need more than one million skilled workers to fill open jobs and support economic growth.
Skillful, with its strategic partner Microsoft, is a corporate philanthropy which will work with:
- Indiana employers to help them recruit and hire with a focus on skills – and encourage them to invest in skill building for their employees
- Indiana higher education institutions to help them anticipate economic shifts
- Professional development coaches to equip them to connect more Hoosiers with training
Just as Governor Holcomb promised in 2016, he’s working on data-driven solutions to Indiana’s major issues!
