Indiana’s Hot Streak

Governor Eric Holcomb said it best this week: “It’s cold outside, but Indiana remains on a hot streak!” It’s a hot streak that continued through this week’s arctic temperatures. Here’s a quick recap:

  • One of Governor Holcomb’s top priorities this legislative session passed the Indiana House with nearly unanimous support! The bill would exempt military pensions from state income tax, helping attract more talented, patriotic veterans to join Indiana’s workforce when they leave their time in our nation’s armed forces.

  • Governor Holcomb joined Vincennes University and AAR to announce a new aviation maintenance education and training program that will be located at the Indianapolis International Airport. The new program will play a critical role in helping train more aircraft mechanics – a high-wage job that’s in high demand here in Indiana!

  • Is it May yet? Governor Holcomb went out to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to help announce the new presenting sponsor to the Indy 500!

Governor Holcomb toured Eleven Fifty Academy, a nonprofit coding academy based out of Launch Fishers in Hamilton County, to learn more about the immersive training they provide Hoosiers looking to build skills in the in-demand, high-wage tech field!
